General
How do I book?
Book daycare, lodging, grooming and Paws Pickup in the app. It's shared with our sister brand, Paws & Pints, so you use one login. You can also call the front desk at (515) 969-2275.
What vaccines are required?
Rabies, distemper, parvo and Bordetella, uploaded to your dog's profile in the app before the first visit.
Are there breed restrictions?
No. We never turn a dog away based on breed. Every daycare dog passes a temperament screening first.
What happens in an emergency?
Daycare supervisors are certified in pet first aid and CPR. Iowa Veterinary Specialties, a 24-hour emergency hospital, is one block north of us.
Can I tour the facility?
Yes, on weekdays at the top of each hour from 11 AM to 3 PM, when staff are available. Request a tour.
Daycare
What does a daycare day include?
Indoor and outdoor play yards, supervised group play, enrichment activities, nap time, shade, fresh water and plenty of potty breaks.
How are playgroups sorted?

What's the staff-to-dog ratio?

My dog doesn't love group play. Is there another option?
Yes. Day Stays offer one-on-one attention and a quieter pace for puppies, seniors and dogs over six months that aren't neutered.
Lodging
When can I drop off and pick up?
Drop-off is 1–6 PM and pickup is 7–11 AM, daily. Outside those windows there's a $15 fee if arranged in advance. The earliest possible time is 6 AM and the latest is 7 PM.
Is someone there overnight?
Yes. Mo'Tail & Spaw is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Can I check on my dog?
Our staff are happy to give updates during business hours. Luxury suites include live camera access for $12 a day.
What's the cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 48 hours ahead. For late cancellations and no-shows we keep the deposit (the first night's price) and may charge up to 50% of the booking.
Can two dogs share a suite?
Usually, yes, if they live together and get along. Very large breeds may need separate suites.
Grooming
How long does a groom take?

Can you handle an anxious or matted dog?

What is a microbubble bath?
Water filled with tiny oxygen-rich bubbles that clean deep into the coat. It's popular for dogs with itchy or sensitive skin.
Paws Pickup
How much does it cost?
$7 for the first 3 miles, then $3 for each additional mile. Each extra dog from the same household is +$10.
Do I need to be home?
Yes. You or an approved guardian must be there for drop-off. We can also meet you at work or another agreed spot.
Will I get updates?
Yes. We text you at each step of the trip.
Membership
What does membership include?
10% off Mo'Tail & Spaw services, a $10 credit every month, priority daycare access and partner discounts. It's $24 a month or $264 a year.
